I’ve always loved to make things with my hands. Recently I stumbled upon an old first grade worksheet that asked about my dreams and aspirations. When asked what my favorite food was, I responded "tacos." When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said “an artist.”

My work is wheel thrown from porcelain and crystalline glazed, and I mix all of my glazes by hand. I love and hate working with crystalline glazes because they are in turns fickle and breathtaking; opening the kiln still feels like a combination between Christmas morning and a doctor's visit where you're getting some important test results. Because crystalline glaze is almost like a painting, I work to make my pieces like a canvas- I'm very focused on clean, elegant lines and profiles.

Recently, I've also been working to develop a body of slipcast work utilizing bright, interesting cone 6 glazes that break over faceted texture. While this work is currently in development, stay tuned- I hope to have it available and featured on the website later in 2020.

I also manage almost all aspects of my business myself: I am in turns the web developer, photographer*, kiln technician, glaze tester, sink trap cleaner, and salesperson. It's exhilarating and exhausting, and I love talking with aspiring artists of all kinds about how to turn their craft into a sustainable business model. Drop me a line for glaze recipes, marketing advice, or show recommendations.
