Illustrative in nature, my paintings have a sense of romance, idealism and whimsy. I feel an underlying spirit beneath the material world that I try to make more obvious in a painting. My big awareness is that no one has to wait to be in heaven, that bliss can be found in the present.

I like to use strong design and contrast in my work so that it speaks to a person from a distance. After a rain storm, the world shows up crisper and more vibrant. It’s that joyous clarity that I like to capture in my work. I know I’ve accomplished my goal when I see someone look at a finished piece and their face lights up with a smile. That’s truly satisfying to me, when I can see that I have communicated well to another person and they can feel my intent.
