My name is Debbie Presnell and I have lived in Waynesville, NC since 1977. I have always been creative. When I was young I made my own Barbie clothes, furniture, and accessories. I enjoy sewing and I love to decorate. I began building when I was 21. I can lay tile, hard wood flooring, lay rock, frame and much more. I love my garden and digging in the dirt.

In 2019 we needed to move my mother-in-law, Ruth, in with us because she suffered from Alzheimer’s. As her caregiver I felt myself needing an outlet, another focus. I began studying different artists on YouTube. Watching these artists relaxed me and inspired me. After a year of studying different techniques I got the courage to begin creating my own Acrylic Dutch Pour, abstract paintings. I love the way mixing regular acrylic paints with metallic, iridescent and pearl acrylic paints create abstract forms. Acrylic Dutch Pour technique creates paintings that make you just want to stare at the painting to find different shapes and forms, much like seeing images in clouds. I sign, date and number all of my paintings on the back of the canvas so it can be hung in any direction the viewer desires.

Painting has brought me much joy. I hope you enjoy my work.
