Through conceptual photo composites I try to exemplify my deep love of story and mystery. I pull themes from fantasy, fairy tale, myth, and science fiction, combining scores of photo layers and effects to create images that tug at the archetypal within us: a glimpse of alchemy, a haunting melody, a half-remembered dream. Each work is a portal, sometimes leading into the gloaming, sometimes into the surreal and quirky, but my hope is to draw the viewer into a space where enigma, power, and magic are driving forces.
Photography has been my creative outlet since I picked up my first camera at the age of 5, but it wasn’t until I started learning Photoshop that the possibilities exploded for me. In the beginning, I used a combination of stock model images and my own photos, then moved into a phase of self-portraiture. Now I largely photograph my own models, allowing me to craft the images with clearer insight. I also make and collect costumes, and regularly haunt thrift shops for interesting props, to propel my work into new realms.
Welcome to my twilit sphere. Explore my galleries and meet my friends: fairies and valkyries, dragon-keepers and mystery-seekers. My work is for sale, and I can also be engaged to photograph you and create your own unique mythos.
