My goal as a landscape painter is to express the emotion I feel watching the play of light across the land. It gives me great joy,and my paintings are an attempt to communicate that moment of transcendence.
The beauty of nature provides me with endless inspiration. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Heaven walks among us ordinarily muffled in such triple or tenfold disguises that the wisest are deceived and no one suspects the days to be gods." Hopefully my paintings induce the viewer to linger for a moment and experience something of what Emerson suggests.
