Where is Woolworth Walk?

Woolworth Walk is located at 25 Haywood Street, in Asheville, North Carolina. We are right in the heart of downtown Asheville's historic district and situated within one-and-a-half blocks of all three of the city-owned, multi-deck, parking garages.

The building stands at the intersection of Haywood Street and Battery Park Avenue, between the Civic Center and Pritchard Park, and  directly across the street from the Haywood Park Hotel. Nearby landmarks include Pack Square Monument, the Flat Iron building, the Grove Arcade, and Wall Street, known for its wonderful shops, galleries and restaurants.

 Driving Directions

From I-240, take Exit 5B (Charlotte Street):
Turn south on Charlotte Street towards downtown  and turn right at the first traffic light onto College Street. Continue on College Street for six traffic lights. At the sixth traffic light, turn right onto Haywood Street. Woolworth Walk is on your immediate right at the next traffic light, which is the intersection of Battery Park Avenue and Haywood Street.

From I-40, take Exit 50 (Highway.25, also known as Hendersonville Road):
Travel north on Highway 25 towards the hospital. Stay in the right lane and continue straight on Hwy. 25 North (with McDonald's on your left). Proceed across the train tracks, and continue on Hwy. 25 North, which changes its name from Hendersonville Road to Biltmore Avenue at this point. Go about two miles further, past Pack Square and the Vance Monument obelisk at Pack Square (on your right), and make a left at the next traffic light onto College Street, between the 15-story BB&T Bank building and Beanstreets Coffeehouse. Continue along College Street for three blocks and turn right at the second traffic light onto Haywood Street. Woolworth Walk is on your immediate right at the next traffic light, which is the intersection of Battery Park Avenue and Haywood Street.

Parking

Woolworth Walk is located within easy walking distance of the city' s three major public parking lots. Monday through Friday, the first hour of parking is free. On Saturday and Sunday, the all-day fee is only $1.00.

On the street, metered parking is also available; however, beware of the $10+ parking ticket fine. On the street, park only in designated areas; otherwise, you run the risk of being towed or fined.

RANKIN Avenue City Parking Garage: With Woolworth Walk on your right, travel on Haywood Street for one block. Just before Malaprop's Bookstore, turn right onto Walnut Street, go a half block, and then make a right into the driveway of the city parking garage. This lot is the closest to Woolworth Walk and provides a covered pedestrian arcade directly to Haywood Street.

CIVIC CENTER City Parking Garage: With Woolworth Walk on your right, travel on Haywood Street for two blocks; go past Malaprop's, then past the Central Library, which is located on your right. Immediately after the library, turn right onto a small road and proceed to the parking lot entrance located on your right. When downtown is crowded, parking is almost always available at the Civic Center parking garage; the Wall Street and Rankin parking lots are smaller and fill up first.

WALL STREET City Parking Garage: After turning from College Street onto Haywood Street, make an immediate left turn onto Battery Park Avenue at the traffic light in front of Woolworth Walk. As you make this left-hand turn, the Haywood Park Hotel will be on your right. Travel two blocks along Battery Park Avenue. At the second stop sign, make a left onto Otis Street, then an immediate left into the driveway of the city parking garage. This parking lot is the most popular and frequently is the first to fill up.
